Quilting - Step 8 ("Quilting")

This series is for my dad. He learned a lot about quilting while we were in Bayfield for New Year's, and he seemed surprised at all the steps involved in quilting. I started this quilt back in January, but have been waiting to publish the posts detailing each and every step until after I gave the quilt away to its intended recipients.


STEP 8: "Quilting"

You've finally gotten to the part where you do actual "quilting."

Some people use their sewing machine to do the quilting, others hire someone with an industrial quilting machine to do it, and others are old-school hand quilters.

My machine clumps up the fabric when it tries to quilt, and I can't afford the exorbitant fees of the professionals quilters. So it's quilting by hand for me!

I really like how hand-quilting looks when it's done, but by gosh it takes a long time to do!





BTW, in real time it's now the end of April (three months after I started step 1).
