Quilting - Step 5 (Piecing the Quilt Top)

This series is for my dad. He learned a lot about quilting while we were in Bayfield for New Year's, and he seemed surprised at all the steps involved in quilting. I started this quilt back in January, but have been waiting to publish the posts detailing each and every step until after I gave the quilt away to its intended recipients.

STEP 5: Piecing the Quilt Top

Finally, after all that work making the individual blocks, you're ready to piece them together to form the quilt top.

Here are the individual components for the other 15 blocks, ready to be sewn together.

This is my favorite part! Finally all the blocks are laid out, and you get your first true sense of how the finished product will look :)

Here are the blocks sewn together in rows, ready for the rows to be sewn together:

Aaaand, I forgot to get a photo of the blocks are pieced together. Oops! Well, at least the above photo should give you a pretty good sense of what the quilt cover looks like.
