Quilting - Step 6 (Adding the Border)

This series is for my dad. He learned a lot about quilting while we were in Bayfield for New Year's, and he seemed surprised at all the steps involved in quilting. I started this quilt back in January, but have been waiting to publish the posts detailing each and every step until after I gave the quilt away to its intended recipients.

BTW, in real time it's now February 8 (one month after I started step 1).



STEP 6: Adding the border

Once the main quilt top is done, you get to add the border(s). Most quilts have at least one, some have two or three. This step helps finish the edges, which makes it easier to quilt.

Here I am, sewing away!

Finally, after all that, we get the half-finished quilt!! (Which, incidentally, gets the Mac seal of approval!)

I'm pleasantly surprised by how this one is coming together :)
