running update (week of 6/7/09)

6/7 - My first run in over a week. I took it really slow, and it wasn't as bad as I feared! I really missed Mike's iPod, though (he was using it while he was off fishing), so I may really have to splurge on one for myself soon.

6/8 - Note to self: don't eat chips and guac right before running. Seriously. I didn't want to run, it was slow and painful, and it didn't even feel good when it was done. Blech.

6/9 - We ran 1.5 miles at our "Heart of Summer" training clinic tonight. The coach said Amanda and I finished in about 15 minutes. Seriously?! I think her watch might be broken, cuz I don't think I'm capable of running a 10-minute mile.

Distance: 1.5 mi
Avg Speed: 6.0 mph (uh huh...)

6/11 - New running locations are exciting! I went over to Summit Ave after work, and it was definitely a nice change of pace to run amid the beautiful old mansions. It made the miles fly by (kind of. at least as quickly as they can "fly" for me).
Time: 46 min (for sure! my new iPod has a stopwatch function!)
Distance: 3.82 mi
Avg Speed: 5.0 mph
Cumulative distance: 39.58 mi

6/13 - Just a boring old run on the regular old loop from my front door. But I do love my new iPod (although I apparently have defective ears and the earbuds pop out every half mile or so).
