crop share - #1

After reading Animal, Vegetable, Miracle (by Barbara Kingsolver), my coworker and I decided to sign up for a local crop share. After much research and debate, we chose to go through Blackberry Community Farm. We finally got our first delivery this past Tuesday! Who would have known what a thrill it would be to unpack the first box - and what a trial it would be to attempt to determine what our veggies are!

Our box was overflowing!


It contained lots of lettuce...


...some bok choi, radishes, and ...umm... something else(1)...


...and ...ummm... something else(2).


After much research and outside consultation, we think we have determined that "something else(1)" is lambs quarters and "something else(2)" is kohlrabi.

This should be an interesting summer.
