Mike's birthday ice cream cake
1 package Oreos
3 T butter, melted
1 Breyer's natural vanilla
1 Breyer's chocolate
1 Breyer's cookies and cream
1 package Heath chips
1 c heavy cream
.5 c light corn syrup
12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
decorating frosting
candles
1. Crush about 15-20 Oreos (a food processor makes this step fast and easy), and mix with the butter. Press into the bottom of a pan (a 9" spring-form pan is ideal, an angelfood cake pan is okay, a tall casserole dish or loaf pan will suffice).
2. Allow the first ice cream to soften. Then press into a layer above the Oreos. Return to the freezer until firm.
3. Now make the fudge layer: in a small saucepan, mix the cream and corn syrup over medium-lo heat, just until bubble start to form. Remove from heat, add the chocolate chips, and stir until smooth. Allow to cool slightly. Pour a thin layer of fudge over the first ice cream, and sprinkle with some Heath bar chips and/or some more crushed Oreos. Return to the freezer until firm.
4. Allow the second ice cream to soften. Then spread the second layer of ice cream, top with more fudge, Heath, and/or Oreos. Retrun to the freezer until firm.
5. Allow the third ice cream to soften. Spread the third/final layer of ice cream, top with the last of the fudge, and return to the freezer until firm.
6. Finally, decorate the cake. And Enjoy!
