Sat 5/7 - I'm starting to move past my initial thought everyone weekend of "See, Amanda, I'm still running, even if I am slow!" and starting to recognize some of the benefits of running alone. I get some time to myself, I can push myself to my own limits, and I can learn to really listen to my own body. Oh, and I get to crank up my music too! :)

Thur 5/12 - I've been having weird pain, but I nevertheless attempted this run. I was quickly thwarted, however, and just turned back home.

Sun 5/15 - I pushed my long run back to today since the weather was so gross yesterday. Technically I didn't run the whole time - I ran ~3.75 mi to Lake of the Isles, walked around the lake with my friend Dotty, then ran back home again. Thus the averages (below) are a bit off - my splits were as follows: mile 1 in 10:51, 2 in 11:22, 3 in 11.07, split 4 (.75mi) at 11:01 pace, mile 5 in 19:11, 6 in 18:08, split 7 (.63mi) at 18:54 pace, mile 8 in 11:11, 9 in 12:13, 10 in 12:20 and split 11 (.87 mi) at 10:56 pace. (I love my Garmin!)

Sun 5/29 - I did a lot of biking, walking, and relaxing last week, so this was my first run in awhile. I forced myself to get out there since the Minneapolis Half Marathon is next weekend!!! Eek! Unfortunately, this run stunk. My Garmin died, my iPod case gave me a rash, my shorts rode up and my legs got some chafing, and I had horrible stomach pains toward the end. Ugh.
