Siracusa Family Reunion (Denver 2010)

I was just looking back at my old blog posts and I realized I never wrote a post about my family reunion! You'll have to forgive me, as my only excuse was that it was an incredibly busy summer - from a conference in Tahoe / Reno to a wedding in Philly, from kayaking with my work to a book club camping trip, from the SHT to remodeling/refinancing, from a weekend in Appleton to completing a Pikermi - whew!!! So, without further ado, here are some highlights from my first ever family reunion (in Denver last July).

Note: If you'd rather see the highlights in photobook form (via Snapfish), click here.

Carol (my dad's sister who, incidentally, had just had hip surgery) and Dan were our amazing, gracious, phenomenal hosts.

Kodiak also played host.

Frank (aka PopPop) and Andree (aka MomMom), my grandparents, presided over our motley crew. (They also helped fund part of the gathering - a huge thanks to them!)

 My parents were also there.

So were my aunt Diane (dad's stepsister) and aunt Donna (dad's sister).

Donna's kids, Jessica and Carolyn, were also there, along with Jessica's friend Jerry.

Danny (dad's brother) and Joanne, along with their twins (Ashley and Amy) rounded out the bunch.

We had specially designed shirts...

..and we occupied ourselves with bocce ball - lots and and lots of bocce ball. The tournament was efficiently organized by my dad and expertly officiated by my husband.

 Eventually the family bocce winners...

...and losers were determined.

(Hmm...interesting how the tournament director was in the winning group...)

We also explored downtown Denver a bit.

And we ate lots and lots of delicious food!

We decorated plates to celebrate our accomplishments/appreciations...

..and decorated a bench to commemorate the event.

We even got prizes! (Guess who was the 'best photographer' at the reunion!)

It was such a great time!! I'm already counting down to whenever my family has another reunion!
