Apostle Islands

Back at the very end of June, I was asked if I would step in to be an extra staff person on a Wilderness Inquiry kayaking trip for clients that was sponsored by my work. After some last-minute preparation (like buying a new pair of Keens - twist my arm!), the trip commenced on Thursday, July 8. We spent Friday on our "tip test" and then kayaked to the sea caves.

On Saturday we kayaked to one of the Apostles, kayaked around a shipwreck, and also watched a beautiful sunset.

Then we packed up, did one last hike, and headed out on Sunday.

All in all, it was a GREAT trip - it was a LOT of hard work for us staff members, but luckily my coworkers (Angela, Patty, and Kristin) were all fabulous! If the trip runs again next year, I wouldn't hesitate to volunteer again.

A huge thanks to Kristin for these taking photos (I left my camera at home) and for sending me the jpegs in order to post them here :)
