Many firsts

I've had a lot of "firsts" recently: first surgery, first walk around the block PS (post-surgery), first ever CT scan, first day PS not sleeping on the couch, first day back at work PS, etc. Exciting!

Some of my other more recent firsts have included:

*Thurs 6/30: my first trip to the grocery store PS. (It was actually a little harder than I expected since I'm still not allowed to lift more than 15 pounds. Therefore I had to use the old-lady cart instead of a hand basket...
...and I debated for a long time whether I could carry my 2 plastic bags to the car or whether I needed the curbside pick-up.)

*Fri 7/1: first day without any pain meds!

* Sat 7/2: first day without a nap!

* Sun 7/3:  first full day without bandaids on my incisions! (followed by a couple days slathered in neosporin, since my skin was severely aggravated by the bandaid adhesive.)

* Sun 7/3: first walk around a lake! (No more of this "I went a block" business - I want to be fit and spry!)

Some day I'll be back to normal, but for now I'm enjoying all my rapid progress.

Along those lines, I tried to take a "self-portrait" of my incisions to show you how much they've healed since my last photo on 6/23. As you can see, the belly button incision is healing nicely. The incision on my right side is barely visible. The bikini line incision is still scabbed over, but getting there. Only the incision on my left side (where most of the internal work was done) has much bruising left. (The red, angry marks next to the left incision is where my skin finally revolted against the bandaid adhesive.)

I'm probably not going to be posting pictures of my stomach again any time soon, but at least you now all have visual proof about how much better I'm doing.
