A lovely weekeend (update)

Remember when I told you here about our lovely weekend a few weeks ago? Well, I wrote that blog post on Sunday around noon, so we still had a few hours of loveliness to enjoy. Here are some photos from the afternoon/evening:

Last weekend we got so much rain that the park across the street flooded and an egret was hanging out there! Too bad I scared it off before I could get a closer picture:

(Notice the shepherd's pole fail in the foreground? It was so windy!)

In other news, I've been making slow progress on the quilt I started...um...so long ago that I can't even remember when I started it! According to the date on this picture from my cell phone, it took until January to make these 900 squares:

Since then I've been (slowly) working on the blocks. As you can see from the pattern...
...there are 25 different blocks in the 5x5 grid. Plus I had to make 4 of each block, so the quilt will eventually be symmetrical both L/R and top/bottom. As of last weekend I (finally!) finished all 100 blocks!

Next up: sewing the rows...

Finally, to finish off this hodge-podge of a post, here's a picture of a super-cool HUGE dragonfly that Mike found today:

Have a great weekend!
