Mike and I had made reservations to cash in our Groupon for Trollhaugen and we spent the morning downhill skiing! Well, to be more honest, we spent a couple hours in a group skiing lesson, then we made a few runs down the one slope I felt comfortable on. :) The last time I had tried downhill skiing was in the 5th grade when my friend's mom tried to teach me - it was miserable! She didn't give me poles, I started skiing down the hill backward, and I managed to stop the tow rope and had everyone yelling at me about it - a terrible trauma for a sensitive little 10-year-old girl! I didn't have high hopes for my second go at it, but it was such a good Groupon deal that I agreed to go. (Although it should be noted that I left my Kindle in the car in case Mike wanted to keep skiing and I wanted to just sit in the lodge.) To my surprise, it actually turned out to be fun! There were three of us couples in the lesson we did, and it was clear from the very beginning that I was not a natural on downhill skis. I was the only one that managed to fall down (twice) during the lesson, and the instructor kept pulling me aside to give me extra tips. (Have I ever mentioned how much I hate doing things that I'm not just naturally good at?) But I stuck with it and I actually started to enjoy it! After the lesson was over (including the extra remedial lesson that the instructor gave me) Mike and I took about 5 more runs down the same green slope - I was so proud of myself for conquering that one hill! Maybe next time I'll even try a different green run...
Then, to really top off the day, we got to watch the Packers win the Super Bowl!!!!! It was so exciting. The halftime show was so bad, though, that I started casting an imaginary movie of the Super Bowl. I came up with:
Will Ferrell as Ben Roethlisberger:
Omar Epps as Mike Tomlin:

(Mike is still not convinced that they're not the same person.)
And Jake Gyllenhall as Aaron Rodgers:
(I'm particularly proud of coming up with this one!)
Any other celebrities you'd cast in the movie of yesterday's game?
2/8/10 update:
Jack Black as Mike McCarthy?
BTW, this website totally stole my idea.
But I do love their suggestion of Taye Diggs as Donald Driver:
