update on life

Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been blogging too much recently. Where do I even start? Well, you all already know about the (second) miscarriage we had in late July. Just as I was beginning to recovery emotionally from that, I found out that my job was being eliminated due to budget cuts at the hospital. As my boss kept saying, I was "facing a lay off." (Cut the pseudo-PC jargon! I wasn't just "facing" it, I was actively *being* LAID OFF!) Sigh. So at this point I'm still technically employed, but my tenure as "bread-winner" is rapidly coming to a close. I've already started interviewing for new jobs, however, and I have several promising new leads. (But please keep your fingers crossed for me!)

Given all this turmoil, I've been slowly morphing to a "bread-maker" instead (ha ha), but I've also been a bit too overwhelmed to document any of it. So here's a list of what I've made in the past two weeks or so. (I promise I'll make some "real" updates to my blog at some point soon!)

ravioli (once with meat, once vegetarian)
lasagna (with Mike's homemade tomato sauce)
wild rice/craisin/walnut bread
easy rye bread
sourdough rye pugliese
cheesy crusty bread (with ham!)
chocolate zucchini cake (I made this twice!)
chicken in a basil tomato cream sauce (with wild rice)
chicken in a sage butter rosemary sauce (with roasted potatoes)
more homemade pizza

...to be continued. :)
