So, my New Year's Resolution for 2008, as some of you may have heard, was to run a 5K this year. I got a bit unmotivated for exercise in the late winter / early spring, then ended up training for the Breast Cancer 3-Day throughout the summer, so I started to think that maybe this wouldn't be a "5K year" after all.
Then enter the idea of a "Turkey Trot."
Not being one to even let myself down after I commit to something, I got the brilliant idea in early October that even I, someone who usually only runs when chased, could train for a 5K in less than 8 weeks. (What was I thinking?!) But I did it!
I'm so proud to have run the entire 3.1 miles (not quickly, mind you, but I did it all without walking) - it may not sound like much to "real" runners, but was a huge accomplishment for me. Thanks so much to my friend Amanda who ran with me!!

Here are my clothes, all set out the night before:
Here are some "before" pictures, as I'm waiting for Amanda and her boyfriend to come pick me up (thanks, Mike!):
Here are Amanda and I crossing the finish line (for the second time, since her boyfriend missed us the first time!):
Here's an "after" picture of us:
And here I am in the T-shirt I got (it says "Turkey Day 5K" on the front and "Stuff the Streets" on the back):
Yay, Steph!

Good for you!! That's a great accomplishment as far as I'm concerned!
Oh, that's how you keep the calories off from the food creations on your blogspot. Exercise...hmmm, never thought of that! Congrats, that's a great accomplishment!!!
