Best Brownies

Seriously, these have to be the best brownies ever. I don't know where my mom got the recipe (so many years ago!) but these have long been a favorite of mine.

Best Brownies
.75 c butter, melted
1.5 c sugar
.5 tsp vanilla
3 eggs, lightly beaten
.75 c flour
.5 c cocoa
.5 tsp baking powder
.5 tsp salt
1 to 2 c chocolate chips (or peanut butter chips)

Cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla. Add the eggs.

Mix in the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. (Either whisk the dry ingredients together first, or just sprinkle them all around and mix in the original bowl. Be sure to scrape the sides of the bowl down during this mix.)

Stir in the chocolate chips.

Pour into an 8x8 greased pan (or a 9x13 pan if you doubled the recipe, like I did here)-- greased with real butter (if you're going all out with this recipe, don't skimp out and use the fake pan grease).

Bake at 350 for 45 minutes (8x8 pan) to 60 minutes (9x13 pan). They're done when a toothpick inserted halfway between the center and the edge comes out clean.

Enjoy!
