Another quilt!

I just finished my most recent quilt last weekend. I'd never worked with batiks (this type of fabric) before, so I was happy with how the piecing turned out.

I also was able to use my new "darning foot" for the first time. When I've quilted all the layers together in the past, I've always been limited to the straight lines of my "walking foot."  With the darning foot I was able to quilt in some swirls, as you can kind of see here.

I hope Mitra likes it! (I am slowly making my way through a list of quilts for friends and family. If you haven't gotten one yet, please be patient! It doesn't help that my list is about 50 people long and I only make about one quilt per year.)

And, just because I miss all the quilts I've given away, here's a brief retrospective of my work:

7/07 - Fractured Pinwheels (for the Burmen)

12/07 - Roman Fence (for Gramma Larson)

5/08 - Log Cabin (for my parents)

9/08 - 30s throw (for the Blazeis)

12/08 - Stars and Stripes (for Jack and Marsha)

12/09 - scrap quilt (for our living room)

5/10 - Hug and Kiss (for the Failors)

12/10 - Amish quilt (for Anne)

12/10 - Corner Stars (for my boss Joan)

1/11 - another 30s throw (for the Reicks)

9/11 -Nature Studies Nine Patch (for the Alsharifs)

I'm still working on the "Christmas Cactus" that I started for my office, so hopefully I'll have the time and energy to get that one done soon as well.

OMG! I had no idea how many you've made. What an artist - and each one is more beautiful than the last.
