Target Field!

I finally got to go to my first Twins game at Target Field! It was awesome!!

We got there super early (like, two hours early) so we could walk around and see everything there was to see. In fact, we got there so early that the gates weren't even open yet!

That gave us some time to look around the outside.

Eventually we got inside and could check out the view from out seats. (We were the last row of the first level, right off 3rd base.)

Then we walked around some more and checked out batting practice.

The ceremonial first pitch was thrown out by one of MNSCU's mascots. And, of course, TC was also there.

As for the game itself? Also awesome! It was a pitchers' duel - Liriano even tied a Twins record for number of consecutive strike outs!

We also got to see Mauer at work. :)

And in the end, the Twins won!

You know, it is an amazingly beautiful stadium. I'd always been one to say, "The Metrodome isn't that bad...," but seeing this field made me realize how bad the Metrodome really was for baseball.

Happy baseball season, everyone!

P.S. I took this shot only because one day I'm sure we're going to look back and say, "Remember how small those trees in center field were when the stadium first opened?!"
