This weekend has been great for walking for several reasons:
1. The weather has *finally* been beautiful! It's actually summer out there, and I love it!
2. Salwa, my teammate, and I were *finally* able to walk together! It took us eight weeks to find a day that was open for both of us. Luckily, I think we're pretty good walking partners. :) (Imagine if we couldn't keep up a conversation together, or if our paces were completely different! That would be terrible!) Yesterday we did 10 miles together (Lakes Harriet, Calhoun, and Isles), and today we did almost 7 (Minnehaha Creek from Lk Harriet to Bloomington Ave). It was great.
3. And Salwa and I had a good time talking about our upcoming fund-raisers (among the many other things we discussed as the miles flew by!). Keep an eye out for your evite to our bowling party on July 31. (If I've ever met you, you're invited!!) And if you'll be at the Wal-Mart in Eden Prairie on July 19 or 20, do stop by our fund-raising table.
4. Finally, I had a change of perspective regarding the massive amounts of money I have to raise. Just like I tell my patients to do, I started focusing on how much money I've raised, rather than how much I have left to go. Yes, $2200 is a HUGE amount of money -- but I've already raised over $1400, which is pretty amazing (if I do say so myself). I know some *incredibly* generous people. Thank you so much to all of you who have been able to contribute!! So that change in perspective helped me to really *enjoy* my walks this weekend, rather than trying to enjoy them while simultaneously freaking out about fund-raising.
P.S. Oh, and one more thing - no blister pain this weekend! Yippee!

You didn't tell me about a WalMart table?!?! That will be a fun time!
I thought I told you! (See, this is what happens when I only see you once every six days!)
It should be a good time...
