WARNING: read no further if you are grossed out by feet or blisters
So if you've talked to me at all in the past few weeks, you've probably heard me complaining about blisters at some point. Really, I hate blisters a lot - perhaps even more so than the average Joe. I figured I'd get a few at some point during my training, and I have gotten a few here and there as I've broken in my new shoes. But I didn't think I would get a really, really, really painful one on my little, bitty, stumpy baby toe - one that JUST WON'T GO AWAY. I've tried body glide. I've tried band-aids. I've tried three different types of socks. I've tried praying to the blister gods. All to no avail.
On Friday night I reached my limit. Or, I should say, Mike reached his limit. Since it was already popped he said, "stop whining already and just cut off the dumb thing," assuring me that it would feel better once I rid my pinkie toe of the dead skin that once was the blister.
But no. Underneath the former blister, there was already another blister. AND a blood blister. Good god, it's disgusting.
And it still hurts.
Thankfully I only have six miles to walk today (I never thought I'd say "only" to six miles, but it's true!) and Mondays are my day of rest. Sigh.
I'm open to suggestions, if anyone knows of any magic cures...

What, no pictures? ;)
Just kidding. I have no useful advice to offer, unfortunately, only smart-aleck remarks.
Hope you figure something out and it goes away soon :(
I am completely misrepresented in this post and want to share my disappointment. First off, no matter how much I want to, I never tell you to stop your whining. I mearly suggested that you cut off the skin.
And you told me yesterday that youir toe feels better now that you cut off the skin than it felt prior to the skin cutting.
And by all means if you are going to post on this, you need pictures.
Okay, so maybe Mike didn't explicitly *say* "stop whining," but that was certainly the message he conveyed through non-verbal communication :)
And while my toe did feel better last night, it still hurts. So it's not all better, just marginally improved.
And no one is seeing pictures of my gross, gimpy toes. Ew.
These comments are hilarious. They make me miss you guys even more.
