The top of my ear? Seriously?!

With Mike out of town for a fishing tournament, this has been a fun weekend of walking for me! Friday night I walked Lake Nokomis after work. I had to stop by Target before I made the walk, since I had worn my contacts that day, couldn't find my sunglasses, and it was crazy bright (beautiful!) that afternoon/evening. I ended up buying the only cheap pair of sunglasses that were both polarized and supposedly offer 100% protection again UVA+UBV rays. They seemed to do their job as I walked Nokomis, so that was great. Then Saturday I went to a "shoe and sock clinic" at the TC Running Co (I highly recommend them if you need to be fitted for shoes!). About 2.5 hours later (I'm indecisive, what can I say?!), I walked out with a couple different pairs of socks to try out and a great new pair of shoes (which my friend Dotty called "space shoes" -- I don't know what to think of that). After the shoe/sock clinic I walked around Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles with my friend Amanda, and today I did Lake Harriet twice with Dotty. So I pretty much did the Chain of Lakes this weekend, which was awesome. The bad news is that my new shoes gave both of my big toes blisters; I guess starting off with 12 miles right off the bat was a bit too much too soon? I also have a blister on the top of my left ear. Seriously, who gets a blister atop an ear? The only thing I can figure out is that the combination of my new sunglasses and my hat caused the sunglasses to rub funny. Ugh. So today I experimented with putting the sunglasses in a slightly different place behind my ear, and that seemed to help. But seriously, my ear?!

P.S. I'm up to 51 miles in training (since I started on 4/29), and I've raised $450 so far!

Boo on blisters! Especially on top of your ear, I agree with you - that's strange! Lol!
