Good news, and bad

Good news: I officially started fundraising yesterday, sending out an email to about 40 friends and family. The donations have already started rolling in! Thanks SO much to everyone who has contributed so far. I made some copies of the email today and plan to start mailing out letters (to family members without email) this weekend. I'm cautiously optimistic at this point that I'll be able to make the minimum donation by the time I walk in September, but I'll need a little help from everyone in order to get there...

Bad news: I realized that I'm going to have a hard time fitting all my training in throughout the summer if I have to do all my walks *after* work. So, I made the decision to start doing a bit of the training in the mornings. Did you realize that 5:15 comes around *twice* per day?!? I started off this morning with an easy 2-mile loop around the neighborhood, and once I was actually outside and going, it wasn't too bad. If I can do this before work 4 times per week (I'm giving myself Monday mornings off), and eventually ease up to 3-4mi/morning, this should go a long way to helping me meet the suggested training schedule. So I guess it's good news after all :)

I'm very impressed with you for getting up so early to walk. I used to do that in college, but I can't quite remember how!
