Two last tips before I say good bye

Well, I think it's time to admit that all my blogging efforts are fully directed at my previously super-secret baby blog, Life with Rose. But before I say goodbye to "Ramblings..." I thought I'd leave you all with two little tips. I've been doing these for years, but Mike assures me that they might be new ideas to someone. Enjoy!

Med reminder

If you need to take a new med for a certain amount of time, just tape a reminder sheet to the box/bottle and check it off as you go. (You can make multiple columns if it needs to be taken more than once per day.) Then there's no forgetting whether you've taken today's dose yet or not.

Mattress flipping and turning

You all  know you're supposed to be flipping or rotating your mattress your every three months, right? But how can you possibly remember whether it's time to flip or to rotate? All it takes is a permanent marker. Choose the spot that will be your "home base" - I picked the head of my side of the bed. Write a number 1 on the mattress. In three months, flip your mattress. The corner that's now in your "home base" now gets a number 2 written there. In three months, turn your mattress: Number three. In three more months, flip your mattress: Number four. Now the next time you need to change your mattress, all you have to do is flip or rotate until the correct number gets to the "home base." No more need to remember whether it's time to flip or rotate, because the numbers will always keep things in the correct order. Now your mattress will get evenly worn and will likely last much longer. :)

Take care, everyone!
