So, our good friends who are currently living out in Maine very generously said they would send us a big box of baby clothes that their kids have since outgrown. I love getting packages and I think I've gotten pretty good at sorting baby clothes by size, so I was eagerly awaiting the big box. How exciting to look forward to more gifts for Baby!
When Mike and I got home from work today, we were excited to see the box sitting on our front steps. But when Mike picked it up to carry it inside, it was suspiciously light. That's when he noticed the sticker on the front:
Received unsealed, without contents, in damaged condition at 55416.
Yep, so Margaret dropped off the box at her post office in Maine and paid $17 to ship the box to MN. Then somehow, while in the custody of the USPS, the entire contents mysteriously disappeared before arriving at our local post office. WTF?!
I feel so violated. I mean, it would be one thing for someone to steal a package off our front porch. That would be awful. But for one of our own government employees to do so? What kind of scam is this?!?
Has anyone else ever had this happen before?
