running update (March)

Sat 3/6 - I've been having a hard time motivating myself to do much more than walk recently. But today I got out to Lake Harriett for a nice run (with plenty of walking intervals) with my friend Amanda. I'm so happy spring is near!

Mon 3/8 - No running today, but I did sit down and "create" a training schedule for the 10K Amanda and I are planning to run on 4/24. (Basically I just copied the formal schedule for the Turkey Trot we did.) It's really not that far away! Eek! I really need to start actually running again!

Fri 3/19 - I got home from work early and had some time to kill, so decided to try to get a run in. (Because I missed my training plan's run yesterday. Trust me, I don't normally just try to fill my free time with running.) Usually I have my better runs in the afternoon (not that they're ever easy, but they might be slightly better), but today it was awful! My legs felt like tree trunks. Or lead pipes. Or something quite heavy. Blech!

Sat 3/20 - Amanda was out of town today, so I had to do my Saturday long run alone! The first half was torture - I had some major tree trunk action going on again. But, surprisingly, I actually had something of a stride during the second half. I wouldn't say I was fleet footed or anything, but at least I wasn't a bumbling fool anymore.

Thurs 3/25 - I had to go to the library after work, and also wanted to get a run in. While running with my books in hand seemed like a good idea at first, on retrospect I would not recommend it. On my run I also got passed by the entire SLP boys HS track team. I know I run slowly, but that was still pretty demoralizing.
