Their friends, the Holbachs, were also there. It was great to see them too!
Then on Friday we drove to Bayfield, where we met up with my parents. We stayed at a cute B&B (owned by the parents of one of my high school friends).
Friday night we exchanged Christmas presents, ate the meatball sandwiches my parents made, drank lots of wine, and played board games.
One of the gifts they gave the cats was a little brush, but Mike stole it for himself :)
Saturday went into the little shops in Bayfield, ate lunch at Maggie's, saw the casino in the next town over, and ate dinner at the Old Rittenhouse. (I think we also each took a whirlpool bath in the fancy tubs at the B&B - such a treat!)
This morning (Sunday), we took it easy, ate breakfast downstairs in the B&B (who would have thought that I would really like fish quiche?!), then took off for the long ride home.
It was a great way to bid farewell to 2009 and to welcome in 2010. Here's to you, Mom and Dad!!
