The OFFICIAL summary and photos

Congratulations - you did it! You gave your heart, soul, sweat and tears for three days and created some remarkable memories along the way.

It began at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, on a beautiful, sunny morning. After an inspiring Opening Ceremony, we walked past Como Park, then through a huge cheering station on Summit Avenue. Just before lunch we walked along the banks of the Mississippi then later around most of Lake Phalen. Our 21.5-mile journey ended at camp at Harvest Park, where we were entertained by the Satin Dolls tap dance troupe and our 3-Day Rock Stars! A little bit of rain invited itself to dinner, but thankfully it cleared up by bedtime.

Saturday was another sunny, beautiful day of walking. We met a whole cast of characters along the route, including a “walker stalker” in a decked out red VW beetle, “Cowboy Mike”, the White Bear cheerleaders at the first cheering station, and the New Balance cheerleaders at Pit Stop 2. Not to mention the crowd that stretched nearly half a mile at the Lake Josephine cheering station! Thanks to the creative Crew, we got to visit some unique places along the 22.7-mile route, including the Cari-boob CafĂ© and Bedrock (for lunch with the Flintstones).

We were blessed with sun for the third and final day. Before lunch, we were cheered on by a boy scout troop out cheering next to some pink tents that probably looked familiar. Then we were treated to another HUGE cheering station at Indian Mound Overlook. After 17.3 miles, our three-day journey came to an end with a celebratory Closing Ceremony on the front steps of the State Capitol.

The money you raised will go a long way to helping Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund save lives.
