big mileage, big mileage

I survived my big (training) mileage weekend!

I walked 18 miles on Saturday, followed by 15 miles on Sunday. And that was pretty much all I did this weekend, as I then required two naps each day in order to recover. :) But the weekend of walking convinced me that all this training is paying off, because back when I signed up for this thing I wasn't entirely sure I could do these long walks - or, at least not do them happily - and I was moderately happy this weekend! Oh, and I'm pretty sure that the real 3-Day walk will be "easier" even though the mileage is longer, simply because I'll be taking more breaks. Apparently there are rest stops every 2-3 miles, and we get to stop for lunch in the middle of the day. Both walks I took this weekend I did in basically one fell swoop (with the exception of 1-2 bathroom breaks, 1 water/gatorade re-fill break, and 1 short <5 min sitting break).
